What's worth preparing technically
If the session takes place online, you need very little:
- a stable internet connection,
- headphones — sound quality matters more than video quality,
- a quiet space where nobody will interrupt you for 50 minutes,
- the meeting link (Zoom or Google Meet), which you'll find in your booking confirmation email.
If we're meeting in person in Wrocław, just arrive a few minutes early — the address is in the same email.
What's worth thinking about beforehand
You don't need to prepare a polished presentation of your problem. It can help, though, to briefly answer a few questions for yourself — not necessarily in writing, just worth thinking through:
- What made you book right now, rather than a month ago or a month from now?
- How will you know this conversation was helpful?
- Have you already tried something that didn't work? It's worth mentioning that early on.
If you like preparing in writing, take a look at the collection of short self-guided exercises — you could do one before your session.
What you don't need to have ready at all
This matters just as much as the previous point:
- you don't need a tidy list of problems — sorting that out is part of the session, not a prerequisite for it,
- you don't need to "speak well" or name exactly what you're feeling — starting to talk is enough, the rest follows,
- you don't need to know whether you need coaching, mentoring, or consulting — we'll work that out together, based on what you bring.
The first session isn't about having ready answers. It's about finding the right question.
What the session itself looks like
We start by briefly establishing what you're bringing and what you'd like to take away from the meeting. The main part is a conversation — questions, sometimes a specific tool or exercise, matched to the topic. At the end we sum up what happened and agree on what comes next — whether another session is needed, and if so, in which direction we'll go. For the full picture of what longer-term work looks like, see How We Work Together.
Confidentiality
Everything we discuss stays between us, in line with the ICF ethical standards for coaching work. For more practical questions about booking, payment, and logistics, see the frequently asked questions.
If you feel a little uneasy before your first session, that's normal. Almost every client I've started working with felt the same way. It's enough to show up as you are in that moment.
